My Works
Here is where you can either read my essays/narratives, or download my free creative pieces. I hope to be able to put up works on a bi-monthly basis so that you can stay engaged and confident in my writing. I will do the best I can to keep essays/creative pieces coming along, but realize they take time, and college allots little of this to everyone.
I am still a work in progress when it comes to poetry. So, try to read those with a bit less of a discriminating palette than you would my essays. If you approach my creative works with the same mentality you do my essays, you will be wholly disappointed.
I hope you all now see that these works are up for free! I hope you all can enjoy them, and if you feel so enthralled by them and want to give, you can go to the Contact/Donate page and make that happen.
My Books:
Green Bean Spirituality
Book~Narrative
The conception of this site has revolved around getting the manuscript for this text in print. After ten months of slaving away on my keyboard, making phone calls, and wading through hell and high water, the manuscript is completed and has been welcomingly embraced by a publisher. The piece as a whole is a personal narrative involving my personal experience with some of the basic tenants of the Christian gospel. The piece is broken up into five essays about sin, God, Jesus, grace, and faith with an introduction and conclusion.

My Essays/Narratives:
Religion and Politics: How We All Have it All Wrong
Essay
As if it were a mystery, there is controversy to be had in discussing politics with anyone. So often we get so nearsighted to our own opinions that we become incapable of seeing any possible truth in another persons opinion. Tragically enough, amidst the screaming and shouting over which band-aid would work best, we all seem to be discussing the same wounds. This essay is a wake-up call to those who hold their political views over the true definition of “the kingdom of God.”
Debunking The Secret: Blood Diamonds Are Not Good Enough
Essay
Modern spirituality writing today are becoming bloated with more self-help books, and less texts that actually discuss a self-less scope of spirituality. After coming in contact with The Secret written by Rhonda Byrne, I felt compelled to compose this essay. I did not do this out of malice for Oprah’s book club, simply out of malice for narrow-minded ideas of things that should be mind expanding. Please read this critically, and let me know how you all feel about the argument.
On Personal Worth: Infinity is Greater Than Zero
Essay
Too long have Christians been beaten down with the lie that we are all rendered worthless because of our sinful natures. If Jesus offered us “life to the fullest” then why didn’t he make us everything we apparently aren’t and give us worth? I wrote this essay to attempt to dispel this lie with simple logic, and straightforward theology. I hope this essay can be eye-opening to those who have since given up hope on the intrinsic value of the human race, and to those who haven’t, I hope it can affirm to you that you are not alone in your belief.
The Long Walk Home: Facing My Own Headlights
An Invitation to Stink: A Lesson in the Humility of Romance
Narrative
I hate dating. It’s not that I think girls have cooties or anything (I have already been vaccinated in any case), I just think the whole process is so disingenuous it’s absurd. Granted, a large portion of that could be bitterness because I am bad at it, but in this piece I discuss why I think that human beings should not only welcome the flaws of one another, but allow our flaws to be welcomed as flaws. I hope you guys enjoy this piece, I would honestly say it’s my favorite thus far!
My Articles:
What Lies Behind the Northface
This is my first article EVER! A friend of mine referred me to this online magazine called “Wrecked for the Ordinary,” and I have absolutely fell in love with the site! All their articles focus on postmodern Christianity, and address issues like social justice, living simply, etc. Don’t JUST read my article; check out the whole site!
Doing the God Thing: A Reflection
This was the second article I got to write for Wrecked for the Ordinary, and it caused quite a stir. Though you couldn’t tell from the comments, there were a few of my peers who were not friendly to some of the ideas proposed here! If you like it, leave comments, if you don’t, leave comments!
What If We’re Wrong: Reflections on Faith
Once again, the friendly folks at Wrecked for the Ordinary ran one of my articles! This one goes well with ‘Doing the God Thing,’ I actually feel like if you read them both back-to-back, you could see my second article as the conflict and this one as the resolution. I hope to put these together to form a much bigger piece soon.
Right Makes Blight: My Relationship With God
Relationships are tough with the people in your immediate world, they are even tougher with people who seem worlds away of you, hence this article. In this piece, I discuss my relationship with God and the pitfalls I often overcome. This is actually my first piece with Prodigal Magazine and I hope to continue writing for them in the future.
Thanksgiving Versus Thanks-Living
Of all my publications, this is probably the only festive one. This piece is my discussion on the nature of miracles, and how I’m generally impatient with them. Frankly, if I were any more haste with them, I would request that they had a drive-thru option. This is my second article with Prodigal, and I hope you all enjoy it!
Reign O’er A Kingdom in Ruin
After a slight literary moratorium, I returned back to the game with another piece for Prodigal Magazine. I wrote this one to address the neglect of personal identity found in the Christian community. Hopefully, this one won’t have the backlash that some of my earlier pieces have; only time will tell.
