My Context
Words mean “things.”
I know that isn’t a very insightful one-liner, but this statement is what lead me to writing.
Human beings are always pursuing some form of knowledge or understanding. It seems to be the only common lot that we all share! Sadly, we as humans can take some of this wonderful knowledge that we acquire over the miles we walk and package it for easy distribution. We simplify things by means of language and strip our discoveries of the beauty for which they stand for. These simple words will further crush the essence of our recently acquired nugget by making it a “thing.”
“Things” are easily transformed into witty one-liner’s we pass around to others as if they are the salves of healing and enlightenment. In reality these “things” are just as superficially thought about by us, as they are passed around by us. We all quest for understanding, then when we wrap our minds around something truly powerful we domesticate it with simple and clever language. Ultimately it then becomes just another “thing” floating around in our grey matter when it used to once be beautiful.
My faith suffers greatly from “things.” Sin, God, Jesus, Grace, and Faith at one time all became “things” to me. They were easily explained and superficial in nature.
This is why I write.
My goal is to take the “things” that we strip of majesty in our minds and draw them back out to the world we got them from. Make them beautiful and personal again. Give them value, meaning, life, and breath. Allow them to affect us in a personal and profound way.
This is the mission of my manuscript. I discuss Sin, God, Jesus, Grace, and Faith and how each and every one of these things has affected and become beautiful to me. This project started as something just for me, but through prayer and circumstances I have been assured that these pages can bless somebody else out there.
This is why I hope to be Someday Published.
