After months of anticipation, I got my first book review from the lovely people at Wrecked for the Ordinary! Granted, it certainly wasn’t a glowing review, which is tough. It’s hard to have your first book be misunderstood in public! However, this will not waver me. I have been making contact with other outlets to get more reviews out there to provide some counter balance!

If you’ve read the book, check the review out and comment. Even if you didn’t like the book, comment. That will attract more traffic, which in turn will bring more exposure.

Through my connections with Wrecked for the Ordinary, I have started submitting articles to Prodigal Magazine! If you haven’t heard of Prodigal, they are an up-and-coming men’s Christian magazine and have over 2,000 articles ranging from fantasy football to fatherhood.

I am also beginning talks with them to get a book review for Green Bean Spirituality, and I am still waiting on a review from Wrecked for the Ordinary on a review from them as well. As of now, that’s two pending reviews, and I hope to see how the Christian community is responding to my work.

Another big thing on the horizon is a possible interview with with “The Bi-Weekly Show” to discuss my other writing opportunities.

Thanks for staying tuned guys! If you want to read my article on Prodigal Mag, click here or go to the My Works page.

I have really been growing to love Jeff Goins and the lovely people at Wrecked for the Ordinary!

Within the past month and a half or so, they have run two more articles I have written! Count this as my excuse for not writing any essays as of late, seeing that I can only commit myself to so much literature without my Math GPA heading south.

I need to take the time to thank all of you who have been keeping up with my work. Thanks to all of you, my articles on this site have well exceeded 600 already! Because you all have been great about reading and posting comments, I have been able to continue writing for Wrecked for the Ordinary.

Also, a book review from one of their younger writers has been in the works for a little while, and will hopefully be available to you all very soon.

Check out the ‘My Works’ page to read the articles if you haven’t already!

A friend of mine who has since graduated, travelled the world, and enrolled at graduate school (rather impressive resume) stumbled across a copy of Green Bean Spirituality and blogged about it! She (Sarah) also was the same person to reference me to Wrecked for the Ordinary who allowed me to write a column on their site.

After doing a bit of looking around Wrecked for the Ordinary, I found that Sarah submitted an article there too! You can check out her article here, or her blogpost here.

I never realized how many of my friends are writers and talented ones at that!

Just so you all know, a book review is hopefully in the works, and should be taking form soon! As always, I will keep you all informed!

Today I came across something particularly interesting…another writer my age! Granted, he has been traditionally published and is making a bit more of a name for himself, but we still couldn’t drink in a bar while we were writing our manuscripts and that means something to me!

Kevin Roose recently published “The Unlikely Disciple” which documented his adventures at Liberty University for a semester. The book has generated buzz, and even some of the big-whigs in post-modern Christianity wrote glowing reviews of it. In any case, I recommend all of the nine of you who frequent my site to go out and buy this book so as to support fellow young bucks out there!

Also, check the “Things to Read” page to check out the latest of my blogging discoveries!

One more thing, I was featured in a blog by my publisher here, and I would like you all to read the interview. No reason in particular, just so that I can feel good about myself, especially in lieu of Kevin…

Finally, after unnecessarily prolonging the awkward “tell your friends to buy my book” ploy, my publisher and I have finished my press release!

For those of you who don’t know, a press release is a formally written announcement that your book exists. The purpose of these is to get media outlets (stores, radio stations, blogs, podcasts, etc. ) aware of your work. According to the PR plan my publisher and I put together, we are looking at about 500 different outlets getting notice of my literary existence!

At this point, it’s off to the races! Those who are reading, keep doing it! Tell your friends, families, creepers, etc. Those who aren’t, you are at my site, so I encourage you to read my works here (unless you just wanted to check out the snazzy new theme courtesy of Woo! but provided by a friend at Dreamstar Studios).

Also, I will soon be including a link to an article ran on my publication by my campus’ newspaper. Hopefully, I will be featured by a larger newspaper here in the next couple of weeks! I will keep you updated to the fullest!
