Writers that Aren’t Me…
Today I came across something particularly interesting…another writer my age! Granted, he has been traditionally published and is making a bit more of a name for himself, but we still couldn’t drink in a bar while we were writing our manuscripts and that means something to me!
Kevin Roose recently published “The Unlikely Disciple” which documented his adventures at Liberty University for a semester. The book has generated buzz, and even some of the big-whigs in post-modern Christianity wrote glowing reviews of it. In any case, I recommend all of the nine of you who frequent my site to go out and buy this book so as to support fellow young bucks out there!
Also, check the “Things to Read” page to check out the latest of my blogging discoveries!
One more thing, I was featured in a blog by my publisher here, and I would like you all to read the interview. No reason in particular, just so that I can feel good about myself, especially in lieu of Kevin…

In Today’s News…
There has been a ton going on with Someday Published as of late! For example, I have business cards now! Oh baby!
Firstly, the book is getting ready to hit the production phase. The creative stage is wrapping up with one of the most incredible cover designs drawn up by my friend Justin. The final product greatly deviated from the initial design, but he outdid my expectations like none other! Definitely one of the more encouraging developments for the project!
Secondly, THE SECRET DRAWER!! Today I put one of my more recent prose pieces in “the secret drawer” at the Brew Ha-Ha on E. Main St. For those of you who don’t know, the secret drawer is the red, beat-up desk by the window. Within the drawer, there is a small truckload of art, poetry, and little snip-its of wisdom. I recommend sifting through the drawer when you get the chance! My piece is a folded piece of notebook paper with “My input for the secret drawer” written on it.
Next, you will notice the new narrative added to the “My Works” page. This piece is actually my favorite at the moment seeing as how it’s short, different in structure and style, and more personal than most of my other works. I look forward to seeing the reviews for this; the good, bad, and indifferent.
Finally, the future. I have been clawing my way through school at the moment, but have still sat aside some time here and there to start on another project. I am not certain about the future of it, but I am certain that it is a fun write! The piece is going to be addressing the soci-political hot-topics that people argue about for days but make no ground doing so. I won’t mention any specifics really, but the point isn’t so much the topics as it is going to be the idea. I hope to start up some good conversation with the piece, and who knows, maybe it will bring a little controversy into my literary portfolio! More on that as it develops!
ONE MORE THING!
If you have any kind of connection to where I could get this thing some exposure, I am more than good with that! Whether it be a speaking opportunity, a press-release, or anything of the sort (blogs, newspapers, anything of the sort really!) shoot me an email at ben@somedaypublished.com and we can work something out to build up exposure for the book/site!
